Purpose and scope
Dezly publishes educational material about crochet techniques, amigurumi, yarn, tools, pattern literacy, and making decisions. This policy applies to named contributors, editors, and anyone supplying material under the Dezly name.
Our goal is not maximum volume. A useful page answers a clear question, makes its limits visible, and gives the intended reader enough information to act without guesswork.
Commissioning and briefs
Every guide begins with an editorial brief identifying audience, outcome, terminology, scope, excluded topics, safety concerns, sourcing, visual requirements, and a maintenance owner.
Search demand can inform priority but cannot justify duplication without clearer explanation, original testing, better organization, or a genuinely useful perspective.
Research and evidence
Writers distinguish direct observation, practical testing, primary documentation, manufacturer information, regulation, expert guidance, and editorial judgment. Claims are checked in proportion to potential impact.

Editors may request more evidence or remove a claim that cannot be supported responsibly.
Writing and technical editing
Drafts are edited for structure, sequence, terminology, assumptions, counts, measurements, accessibility, and plain language. Editors check whether headings aid navigation and whether visual information is also explained in text.
Dezly uses US English consistently and explains common UK equivalents where terminology could change the result.
Authorship
A byline identifies an accountable contributor. The profile describes role, remit, and review method. Dezly does not invent qualifications, awards, years of experience, client lists, or social profiles to manufacture authority.
Substantial contributors receive credit; routine production support is not presented as sole authorship.
Automation and AI
Automation may support formatting, link checks, spelling, structured data, accessibility diagnostics, and production. Generative tools may assist brainstorming, but generated text is not evidence, first-hand testing, or accountable authorship.
A named editor remains responsible for instructions, counts, measurements, safety statements, disclosures, and citations.
Commercial independence
Advertising, affiliate links, free products, sponsorships, and partnerships remain separate from conclusions. They do not guarantee coverage, a favorable result, or protection from correction.
Material connections are disclosed near affected content. Arrangements requiring predetermined wording or preventing criticism are rejected.
Pre-publication review
The responsible editor confirms the brief is met, claims are supported, links work, alternatives are present, disclosures are visible, metadata is accurate, schema reflects the page, and maintenance ownership exists.
Publication is held when evidence could change the result or when a title overstates what the content proves.
Updates and corrections
Work is reviewed when readers report problems, sources or standards change, products are revised, or ambiguity is found. Substantive changes update the review date and add a correction or version note where useful.
A page that can no longer be supported may be corrected, consolidated, redirected, or removed.
Questions and complaints
Submit sourcing, attribution, accessibility, disclosure, or correction concerns through the Contact page. Include the URL, passage, and supporting detail.
Operational review cycle
Policy ownership sits with the Editorial Director, but implementation is shared by every desk. A scheduled review compares published practice with the written policy, samples recent production records, and records gaps that need a design, training, or workflow change.
When an exception is unavoidable, the responsible editor documents what changed, why the normal control was insufficient, who approved the decision, and when it will be reconsidered. An exception does not silently become the new standard. Material policy changes update the review date and are communicated to contributors before new work is commissioned.
